Housed inside this historic Assembly Building is the Missiles and More museum. The Missiles and More Museum came to life when a group of citizens were concerned for the future of the historical Assembly Building. The building was constructed in 1946 and was used by the government to assemble missiles for a secret missile operation being conducted on Topsail Island. The citizens began to pursue their goal to preserve the building and after several years of research the building was purchased. Thus it was decided that the Assembly Building would be the perfect place to have the Missiles and More museum. The late Betty Polzer’s dream was to promote the history of Topsail Island. Through hard work and dedication, her dream was finally realized and the Missiles and more Museum opened for all to enjoy in 1995.
